Project overview
About this project.
This is the deepest clinical system in the archive, and the parts fit together:
- Appointments — booking and scheduling for the centre.
- Tests — ordering and tracking every test through to completion.
- Results delivered to the patient — through a mobile application, not a printed sheet
collected at a counter.
- Reference ranges, read automatically — each result is evaluated against the normal range and
flagged above or below average, so an abnormal value is visible immediately rather than left for
the reader to spot.
- Ranges by age and gender — because a normal value is not the same number for a child, an adult
man or an older woman. The system interprets each result against the right reference for that patient.
- Direct instrument integration — the analysers send their data straight into the system
instead of being transcribed by hand, which removes the single biggest source of laboratory error.
- Test relationships — the system knows which tests go together, so an order suggests the
companions a clinician would expect.
- Imaging — the imaging workflow handled alongside the laboratory side.
- Equipment and stock — inventory of medical equipment and consumables, with the centre managing
its own devices.
