About this project.
Faras is a mobile multi-vendor platform built for Iraq. It sits between wholesalers and the retail
shops that buy from them, replacing phone-and-paper ordering with a single app: the shop owner
browses vendor catalogues, places the order, and follows it through to delivery.
The product is not one app but four connected surfaces, in Arabic and English:
- Retail app — the shop owner browses vendor catalogues, orders and tracks delivery.
- Wholesale app — the supplier manages its store, catalogue, pricing and incoming orders.
- Driver app — order pickup, dispatch and delivery to the retail client.
- Web portal / POS — the wholesaler's back office and counter sales on the web.
Each wholesaler runs its own store inside the platform — its own catalogue, its own pricing — while
the platform handles the ordering flow between the two sides. Around that marketplace sits a
complete operations stack, all built in-house rather than bolted on:
- Delivery system — dispatch and tracking of orders out to the retail clients.
- POS system — counter sales for the vendors themselves.
- Accounting system — orders, invoices and settlements tied back to the same data.
The platform shipped to app stores with published privacy and account-deletion support, and was live publicly for a period before being taken offline.
